Empower Yourself with Knowledge

Understanding Your Rights in Massage Therapy

At At Ease Massage of Leesburg, client education and empowerment are core to my practice. I want you to fully understand your rights and the high clinical standards of care you can expect during every massage therapy session.

I am dedicated to maintaining a safe, professional, and therapeutic environment where your comfort, privacy, and boundaries are strictly respected. By understanding these rights, you can actively participate in a collaborative and highly effective recovery experience.

Right to Respect and Dignity

You have the right to be treated with absolute courtesy, kindness, and clinical professionalism at all times. Massage therapy services are provided without discrimination, respecting your individual values, lived experiences, trauma-related needs, and personal boundaries.

Right to Privacy

You have the right to receive treatment in a dedicated, private clinical suite with its own private entrance and private bathroom. To ensure absolute confidentiality and safety, only one client is seen at a time, meaning you have exclusive access to the space during your scheduled session.

Right to Transparency

You have the right to clear, honest information about your assessment, treatment plan, and the clinical techniques to be used. You are encouraged to ask questions at any point before, during, or after your session and will receive clear, professional answers.

Right to Comfort

You have the right to undress only to your personal comfort level, and the therapist will always leave the room to ensure your privacy. You have the right to expect clinical, secure draping at all times, ensuring only the specific area being treated is uncovered.

You may request immediate adjustments to pressure, technique, positioning, temperature, lighting, or music volume at any point during your session. You also retain the absolute right to pause or terminate any technique or end the session immediately for any reason.

Right to Personal Boundaries

You have the right to strict, unwavering professional boundaries. Sensitive muscle groups such as the gluteals and inner thighs are only addressed with your explicit, prior verbal consent, and genitals are never touched under any circumstance.

Breast tissue remains draped at all times and is never massaged unless medically indicated, referred by a licensed medical provider, and documented with your written informed consent. All physical contact must and will remain strictly therapeutic and non-sexual.

Right to Expressing Health Concerns

You have the right to a thorough clinical intake where your health history, injuries, and physical conditions are evaluated to customize a safe treatment plan. If massage therapy needs to be adapted or is contraindicated for your safety, this will be discussed transparently.

Right to Confidentiality

You have the right to complete confidentiality regarding your identity, health records, and any personal information shared. No photographic, video, or audio recordings will ever be taken or utilized for marketing purposes without your explicit written consent.

Right to Accessibility

You have the right to clear, upfront information regarding physical access to the studio, which includes a dedicated driveway, a walkway, and three steps with a secure railing to the entrance. If you have questions about whether the physical layout accommodates your mobility needs, you will receive honest, supportive guidance.

Right to Transparent Billing

You have the right to clear, upfront information regarding session durations, pricing, cancellation policies, and payment methods, with no hidden fees or surprise charges. At Ease Massage operates strictly as a professional, no-tipping business where your hands-on time is fully delivered.

Rights for Minor Clients

Clients under the age of 18 have the right to age-appropriate clinical explanations, conservative draping, and strict boundaries. A parent or legal guardian must remain on the premises during the session and is welcome in the treatment room, but the minor client always retains the absolute right to guide the pressure and stop any technique.

Right to Contact

You have the right to open, professional communication via phone, text, or email for scheduling and basic clinical inquiries. You can expect timely, respectful responses during designated business hours to help support your ongoing recovery goals.
