Healing Through Experience
I approach massage therapy with a simple, powerful perspective built on two distinct chapters of my life: 24 years of military service and over a decade as an endurance athlete.
As a retired Army officer who spent nearly two decades living and working across the globe, my career was built on presence, adaptability, and high-integrity leadership in complex environments. Today, those same values form the foundation of my clinical practice.
For many clients, especially those visiting a private, residential-based studio, knowing who is treating them is crucial. My military background means that when you step into At Ease Massage, you are entering an environment of absolute safety, strict professional boundaries, and meticulous clinical standards. I treat every client with the utmost respect, listening carefully to your concerns and providing a highly focused, distraction-free space where you can focus entirely on your recovery.
The Athlete’s Perspective: Empathy for the Grind
Alongside my professional career, I have been an active ultra runner for more than ten years. If you push your body to its limits—whether through running, weight training, cycling, or simply managing the physical toll of a high-stress career—I understand exactly what you are going through.
I have personally navigated chronic tightness, overuse injuries, joint discomfort, and the cumulative fatigue of long-term physical demands.
This firsthand experience completely shapes my therapeutic philosophy: effective bodywork should support the body's natural recovery process, not force it. I know how to find the precise balance between deep, effective muscle release and overworking already stressed tissues.
My Clinical Approach: Results-Driven, Client-Led
At At Ease Massage, I believe that therapeutic bodywork does not have to involve pain to be highly effective.
My sessions are entirely client-led and guided by clear, active communication. I don't believe in forcing past your body's defensive muscular guarding. Instead, we work collaboratively within your personal comfort zone to safely release tension, correct structural imbalances, and down-regulate your nervous system.
This is highly targeted, science-based care designed to support your mobility, physical longevity, and athletic resilience.
Who I Partner With
My practice is specifically designed for active, health-conscious individuals who prioritize functional mobility and long-term health. I frequently work with local runners, strength athletes, cyclists, and busy professionals who are proactively managing:
- Chronic Muscle Tension & Stiffness: Restoring slide and glide to restricted muscle fibers.
- Overuse Injuries & Training Fatigue: Speeding up the recovery cycle between intense workouts.
- Postural Strain: Releasing the specific neck, shoulder, and lower back tension caused by prolonged desk work.
- Mobility Restrictions: Working to safely increase joint range of motion and functional movement.
If you appreciate an intelligent, thorough assessment, a clinical focus on pain relief, and a quiet, secure environment, my practice is built for you.
