Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to At Ease Massage — your space to unwind, recharge, and (most importantly) help a massage therapy student refine their craft!

What kind of massage do you offer?

Right now, I’m focusing on Swedish and relaxation techniques, with gentle elements of therapeutic work as I progress through training. Each session is tailored to what your body needs most that day.

What to Expect Before Your Session

We’ll start with a short chat in the office to discuss how your body is feeling, areas you’d like to focus on, and any preferences you have. Then we’ll walk to the studio together, where I’ll show you the massage table, the restroom facilities (for anything you might need before or after), and answer any last questions. Once you’re ready, I’ll step out of the room so you can undress to your comfort level and get settled under the sheet. I'll return when you're ready to begin the session.

What to Expect During Your Session

Each massage session is a unique experience designed around your personal needs. We’ll usually begin with you lying face down as gentle, flowing strokes ease tension from your back and shoulders, then continue down to the backs of your legs. When you turn over, we’ll tend to the front of your legs before moving upward to your arms, chest, and neck, leaving you feeling balanced, relaxed, and deeply restored.

What should I wear (or not wear)?

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Many clients choose to undress to their underwear or remove clothing for a full-body session, but that’s entirely your choice. I use a conservative draping technique, which means you’ll always be securely covered with a sheet, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

What should I bring with me?

There's really nothing you need to bring. I provide all the essentials: Fresh linens, oils, and a calm, cozy environment. Just bring yourself and maybe a water bottle for post-massage hydration.

How long does a session last?

Typically around 60 minutes, with a few minutes at the start and end for setup and feedback.

Is the massage free?

Yes! I’m currently a student working toward my Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) certification, so I’m offering massages for educational and practice purposes only. Your session gives me valuable hands-on experience while you get a chance to relax.

How can I give feedback?

I’m all ears! Tell me what you think about the studio vibe, the music, the massage, or anything in between. Your feedback helps me make At Ease Massage the best it can be. And if you really want to make my day, drop a quick Yelp or Google review—it’s like a little high-five for the business!

What if something feels uncomfortable?

Please let me know! Whether it’s pressure, temperature, positioning, or even the playlist, I can easily adjust. Communication helps create the best possible experience for you.

Can I talk
during the massage?

Totally your choice! Some folks like to chat; others prefer quiet time to zone out. The goal is for you to feel At Ease in every sense.

Is there anything I should do after the massage?

Drink water, stretch lightly, and give yourself time to soak in the calm. It’s normal to feel relaxed or even sleepy afterward.

How can I book another
session?

As a student massage therapist, I am currently limited in the number of new clients I can accept. If you're interested in scheduling an appointment, please reach out to me through the "Contact Me" page for more information and to discuss available options. I look forward to connecting with you!

Are you
insured as a student massage therapist?

Yes. As a student in training, I carry professional and general liability insurance through accredited national massage organizations. This coverage is specifically designed for massage therapy students and protects both you and me during every session.

Do you accept tips?

I currently don’t accept tips, as I’m focused on developing my skills to provide an exceptional customer experience. The best way to support my growth right now is through your participation, honest feedback, and reviews. Leaving a positive review truly makes a difference! It’s one of the most meaningful ways to show your appreciation and help me improve.
